To Buffalo, Part 2

So, Wisconsin or Bust, Day 1 - June 9. Got on the road about 6:15 a.m. Charlie got me lovely Vera Bradley travel bags for my birthday, and they were STUFFED with clothes, shoes, my electronic toys, cameras, gifts, etc. Nice easy ride down 22a, crossing over to NY. Finally got on 90W with Buffalo as first long stretch. I couldn't have done it without my co-pilots Lucky the Bunny, Pinky the Flamingo, and George the Bear - their knowledge and wisdom kept the Old Soul on a straight course. A good audiobook helped - "Ya Yas in Bloom" by Rebecca Wells. Day One's goal was Westlake, OH, about 10.5 hours away. WESTWARD HO!!!

The Blog

Since we've been pretty busy here in Dairyland, I haven't had much time to concentrate on the blog. I'll organize and post when I get home. Time has passed too quickly. I'm sad to be leaving Jackie.

Sorry!

Can't seem to edit the post for "One Month and One Week to Go".  There appears to be some code in the post, and though I remove it - I think - it's still there.

Anyway . . . tomorrow's the day.  Largely ready to go, except for the few things I'll use getting showered and dressed tomorrow.  Want to leave between 5 and 6 a.m.  Will stay in Ohio tomorrow night, and be in Waukesha Tuesday evening.  Bags are packed, GPR programmed, car washed and gassed, snacks ready, audiobooks loaded, phone charged.

So . . . pretty excited to see my family!  Since last post, I've also resumed Jazzercise classes, so may try to take in a couple while I'm there.  Stay tuned . . .

The "Old Soul"

Technical Difficulties

Having some technical difficulties with some aspects of my blog - editing for one - and not finding it particularly user-friendly. Hope this changes as I'm looking forward to using it to post pictures and info about the trip.

One Month and One Week to Go!

On June 9, I'll be driving my beautiful black Honda Civic, the "Old Soul", to Wisconsin to visit one of my two sisters, Jackie, and her husband, Jim, whom I haven't seen in about 20 years.  Getting pretty excited about the trip - which is just over 1,000 miles - and I'm sure I'll be getting nervous about the drive as the date gets closer.  The plan is that I'll drive about nine hours a day with a stop the first night, then arrival on day two. I'll stay through the 16th, then head back to Vermont. We plan to belatedly celebrate our birthdays and Easter, and spend lots of time catching up.&nbspThere will be visits and celebrations with her daughter and grandchildren.  It will be a most memorable trip, without a doubt!
